Sunday School

Sunday School

Sunday School classes for our kids take place from 11:15-12:15.

The purpose of Sunday School classes at Canby Alliance is:

Ø  To meet children where they are developmentally in their faith walk and for the purpose of helping them understand what it means to be a Christ follower. Our Sunday School classes are broken down into appropriate age groupings – we have classes for 3 and 4 year olds, Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade, 3rd and 4th grade and then 5th and 6th grade girls and 5th and 6th grade boys. Typically, our class sizes average 5 – 10 children each Sunday.

Ø  To support parents in their role as their children’s primary faith nurturers. Each week children take home information about what was taught in class so that parents and kids can talk about and review at home what was learned in Sunday School.

Ø  To provide a safe and loving environment in which children can ask questions about, discover and learn what it means to be a Christ follower.  We believe that growth takes place over time and through relationship. We are blessed to have small class sizes with teachers who truly love your kids and are committed to knowing, loving and encouraging them in all aspects of their lives.

Because the safety of your children is a top priority to us, we ask that parents,

Ø  Make checking their children in and out a top priority also each Sunday. When checking in parents receive a number card that matches the number on their child’s name badge. In order to check your child out, parents must present their number card to the Sunday School teacher so that we know that each child is going home with the correct parent.

Ø  Do not send older siblings to pick up younger children – that is the parent’s job.

Ø  Please be prompt in picking up your child from their classroom each Sunday.

We look forward to knowing and serving you and your family through our ministry to children and families here at Canby Alliance Church.
